Germany restricts travel from countries with virus variants

BERLIN January 29 (Reuters) – Germany will impose travel restrictions from Brazil, the United Kingdom, Portugal and South Africa, the countries where more infectious variants of the coronavirus are in high circulation, according to a draft government regulation that Reuters sees.

“In addition to existing test and quarantine rules … a temporary restriction shall be introduced for the carriage of passengers from countries designated as regions with variants,” the regulation states. (Reporting by Andreas Rinke, writing by Thomas Escritt, editing by Kirsti Knolle)
