Cam Newton takes the highway with the trash, but Twitter ...

It’s not uncommon for NFL players to deal with junk, but it does is out of the ordinary when the source comes from someone who is not only not in the league but is even old enough to play in it.

But a video that appeared on Sunday shows 10-year-old NFL veteran Cam Newton showing great patience – and restraint – with what appears to be an oral football camper. It is uncertain when or where the video was recorded, but it probably happened in the last year, given that the child repeatedly used the refrain “You are a free agent”.

The video, which originates from TikTok, shows that the nameless child continues to litter Newton and calls him “a -” and says that he is “poor” and repeats that he is – or is becoming – a free agent. Newton tries to turn off the child by repeatedly saying “I’m rich” (as he has done) $ 122 million over 10 seasons in the NFL) before asking to meet the player’s father. It is uncertain how the confrontation ended.

You will remember that Newton has won the junior college national championship at Blinn College; BCS Championship in Auburn; Heisman trophies; became No. 1 in the 2011 NFL Draft; won the NFL MVP 2015; and took the Panthers to Super Bowl 50. Although his one year in New England was really smaller, it does not reflect what has been an overall incredible amateur and professional career.

A Twitter account titled “Carolina Blitz” later released a statement from Newton; he defended his actions and said he was trying to end the pointless back and forth with the “child” and talk to his father. The account also showed the aftermath of the first incident, with Newton trying to make it a lesson. Unfortunately, the child remained stubborn.

Maybe he would have been better off asking Newton what it takes to succeed at the highest level of the sport instead of talking smack. While Newton seemed to take the highway in the confrontation, Twitter was less than committed; several users criticized the child for the disrespect he showed in the short clip:

Probably should ask him how to be an MVP in the league you probably want to play in first .. 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ Smh https://t.co/QHj0hYgw1X

you have to forgive me. I grew up in a time when it was clear that teenagers who talked like adults were treated like adults. I can not imagine that I am that age and tell CAM NEWTON that he is “ass”. are you serious https://t.co/dJJzXlgpoo

Imagine getting close enough to talk to Cam Newton at a football camp and you’re wasting it like this. https://t.co/bDMOQj6NJY

Imagine a child talking to a professional soccer player who was number 1 in his draft, an NFL MVP and started the Super Bowl QB this way. What has he done to justify mocking Cam when he gives his time to these young athletes? https://t.co/PsEKz5rw41

These kids need to listen and appreciate Cam. Talking like this child did is out of pocket and disrespectful https://t.co/2zSZK0yA0c

He tried to be funny in front of his friends instead of asking a guy like Cam, how to overcome adversity and be an MVP in a league that you have a 1% chance to do. Smh.

IN THE EVENT, he does NOT have to be .. to support you ..? https://t.co/RNcBEyyccz

Honestly, Cam handled it pretty well. Someone else may have introduced the young man to Sir Left and Sir Right. Do not know if it is generation, but I come from a place and time where you do not turn to adults like that. https://t.co/um3m6K6ybO
